Everyone knows Batman. But who has ever heard of Batwing? Outside the US, probably not many. Yet this character is of great importance. To this day, he remains the first and only African superhero, and moreover Congolese, from the DC Comics stable, the publishing house of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. How did the American, English and Quebec creators of this totally unique superhero come to embark on this adventure in 2011? And, upon discovering Batwing today, what can a representative sample of African and binational creators and producers think of this superhero who is supposed to change the perception of Africa in the world of Comics and more broadly in Western Pop Culture.
